Aqara G100 – Extremely Poor WiFi Stability for an Outdoor Camera

Im currently using G100 as an outdoor camera installed at my backyard area. Unfortunately, the WiFi performance is very disappointing.

The camera frequently goes offline, reconnects randomly, and struggles to maintain a stable connection even though other devices in the same location work fine.

This is especially concerning because:

  • It is marketed as an outdoor camera
  • Outdoor placement typically means weaker signal conditions
  • Stability should be a priority feature

In my case:

  • The signal has to pass 2 walls
  • Other devices remain stable
  • The G100 drops connection repeatedly

For a security camera, connection reliability is critical. An outdoor model should be more tolerant of real-world WiFi conditions.

Has anyone else experienced similar instability with the G100?

I know that’s disappointing!

But key point. You acknowledge the issue. So what can you do to improve your network signal out there?

And you saying you have other WiFi devices outdoors in the same location as the G100? Can you share specifics?
