Aqara G4 & G410 easily stolen

I had purchased an Aqara G4 many months ago when I was connecting my new home. The G410 was not announced for another month yet (sucked that my timing was poor).

Anyhow, installation was fine, Setup was fine. Signal to the chime repeater was lame, but I worked through it all until the final issue for the G4, which was it’s non-robust mounting features. I mounted my G4 on the wedge for the angle. Unfortunately, the small screws that then connected the back

of the G4 to the wedge have too small of a head diameter, and a few days ago, some individual just came by and ripped off the unit from the wedge. I mean, the angled wedge (with the screws sitting prominently) was all that was left. Watching the video that I could recover, it did not seem like it too all that much effort.

Well, I replaced it with the G410. However, I included longer screws for more thread engagement, as well as a washer to make sure that the screw wouldn’t just slip past the mounting slots again.

For those of you in more urban areas that have to be concerned with thievery, you might want to reinforce your mounting option.

Anyone else have some added security ideas that they have employed?
