Hi - I need help with the G5 pro. Added it to HomeKit via the HomeKit option - but it does not appear as a bridge in home settings. It’s functioning as a bridge because child devices are added.
I can expose it to matter and then the bridge is added, but then the child devices are added to HomeKit twice.
Any ideas - is there a setting I’m missing?
@craigbarnes Hi there! It sounds like you’re facing an interesting challenge with your Aqara G5 Pro and HomeKit setup. Based on the information available, the G5 Pro functions as a Matter bridge, which might be contributing to the unique behavior you’re experiencing.
Here’s a potential solution: The G5 Pro can be directly connected to Homey as a Matter device, but it will only serve as a Matter bridge on that platform. Meanwhile, when integrating with HomeKit, it’s crucial to ensure that your setup process is consistent with HomeKit requirements. It’s possible that the dual appearance of child devices in HomeKit could be due to overlapping connections between Matter and HomeKit.
Unfortunately, the reference information doesn’t provide a direct solution for this specific scenario. I recommend checking your configuration settings to ensure that the bridge and child devices aren’t being exposed through both Matter and HomeKit simultaneously, leading to redundancy.
If this doesn’t resolve the issue, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the community for further insights or contact Aqara’s support team for more specialized assistance. Your experience is valuable, and sharing any solutions you find could be immensely helpful to others in the community facing similar challenges.
