I have 2 G5 Pros on my house (one on the rear, one on the front), as well as indoor and doorbell cameras, all from Aqara.
Whenever I go into Apple Home, all of the camera thumbnails are up-to-date or, at least, are within a second or so. Except for the G5 Pro on the front of my house. That always shows a thumbnail of when I last clicked it into it (which can be hours, days or weeks previous).
If I click into it, after a few seconds, I see the live stream.
Both G5 Pros are configured the same. They are Wi-Fi versions.
Does anybody have any advice on what I can do to get this one camera to work more effectively?
Well? I think it’s related to your WiFi network strength? check on that G5 network settings and see what it shows for the WiFi strength.
Aqara app-select the camera-settings-network-signal strength. Then check the other G5 camera and see how that signal looks. Try restarting the camera and letting it connect to its preferred network access point if you have more than one.
Otherwise it’s a normal behavior for the G5 Pro camera to do that. I have 9 of them and occasionally that happens. I reboot the camera and it reconnects to a different access point with a better signal and fixes the issue.
Signal strength is -69 on the back camera (which is working fine) and -67 on the front.
The front camera is connected to my main router, which is just a couple of metres away from it but is showing a lower signal strength in my router app than the rear camera which is a lot further away from the secondary router that it’s connected to. Odd.
Anyway, I’ll give it a reboot at some point and see if that cures it.
