Hello everyone!
I have 15+ Aqara H1 EU switches bought in 2023 and one is sending message of overheating although this one is in a shed, next to another one controlling different lights
Having them ignored (as I tend to get this often on the G4 video doorbell due to direct Sun light) I notice that the switch defaulted to an earlier software version (although this one and the rest were updated to the most recent one) and gave me the opportunity to update it again.
When doing so it got stuck at 3% and froze there.
Now it is offline … any recommendation?
I have 21+ overall Aqara accessories and I’m pretty disappointed on how often they break and poor quality on customer support fix solutions.
@raduandreibunea I’m sorry to hear about the issues you’re experiencing with your Aqara H1 EU switch. It sounds like a frustrating situation, especially with the switch going offline and freezing during an update.
Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:
-
Check Proximity to Hub: Ensure that the switch is not too far from the Aqara hub. Sometimes, distance can affect connectivity and cause devices to go offline.
-
Network Issues: If the Aqara hub itself also experiences connectivity issues, it might be a network problem. Consider trying another Wi-Fi network or creating a hotspot with your phone to see if the switch can reconnect successfully.
-
Firmware Update: Since the switch defaulted to an earlier software version and the update froze, try updating the firmware again after ensuring a stable network connection.
-
Reset the Switch: If possible, perform a factory reset on the switch and try reconnecting it to the hub.
-

Hi, could you please provide me with your Aqara account? I’ll ask our engineer to take a check.
Hey, can you give me more details on what you need? My email address or what?
Issue still persists. I have opened up the device and there is nothing wrong with the setup in the wall. No sun or water getting to the outlet.
It starts, appears in Aqara Home and Apple Home then it becomes unresponsive as most probably it is shut down due to overheating
@raduandreibunea Hey there! I’m sorry to hear that the issue with your Aqara H1 EU switch is still ongoing. It sounds like you’ve done quite a bit of troubleshooting already.
From the information available, the Aqara Smart Wall Switch H1 EU (No Neutral) does have an automatic power cut-off feature if high temperature is detected, which is a safety mechanism to prevent potential hazards. This might be why your switch becomes unresponsive after appearing in the Aqara Home and Apple Home apps.
Given that you’ve checked the physical setup and confirmed no external factors such as sunlight or moisture are affecting it, here are a few additional suggestions:
-
Environment Check: Make sure the environment around the switch is well-ventilated to help with any heat dissipation.
-
Firmware Reinstallation: Try reattempting the firmware update in a stable network environment. Sometimes, retrying the update can help if it previously froze.
-
Alternative Hub: If possible, try connecting the switch to another Aqara hub to see if it improves responsiveness.
-
Customer Service: Since the issue persists, I recommend reaching out directly to Aqara’s Customer Service for a more tailored solution. You can contact them via the Aqara Home App (Profile > Help & Feedback > Customer Service) or by scanning the QR code:
