Hey guys, I’m kinda stuck here and could really use some help. Just got my Aqara Hub yesterday, super excited to set it up, but it straight up refuses to connect to my WiFi. I’ve tried resetting it, double-checked the password (yes, it’s correct), and even moved it right next to the router—still nada.
Anyone else run into this? Is there some secret handshake I’m missing? My WiFi is 2.4GHz (made sure of that), and I’m using the Aqara app. The hub just keeps blinking yellow like it’s mocking me.
If you’ve cracked this code before, please share the wisdom! Is it my router settings? A firmware thing? Ready to try anything at this point. Thanks in advance, you lifesavers!
(PS: Using a Google Nest WiFi if that matters.)
@SensorSavant Hey there! It sounds like you’re having a bit of a challenge with your Aqara Hub connecting to WiFi. Let’s see if we can get it sorted out for you.
Firstly, make sure that your Aqara Hub is indeed connecting to the 2.4GHz network, as it doesn’t support 5GHz. Since you’ve already confirmed this, let’s move on to a few troubleshooting steps:
-
Check Router Settings: It might be beneficial to check if your Google Nest WiFi settings are compatible. Ensure there are no special characters in your WiFi name or password, as these can sometimes cause issues.
-
Router and Hub Proximity: You’ve mentioned the hub is near the router, which is great. However, if you have a dual-band router, ensure that the 5GHz band is temporarily disabled to see if that helps the connection process.
-
Firmware and App Updates: Make sure both your Aqara Hub firmware and the Aqara Home app are updated to the latest versions. Sometimes, updating can resolve connectivity issues.
-
Network Readiness: Double-check that your hub is in the ready-to-network state. The blinking yellow light typically means it’s trying to connect, but ensuring it’s in the correct mode can help.
If these steps don’t solve the problem, it might be worth considering creating a ticket for further assistance. Sometimes, specific router settings or firmware issues can be the culprit, and the support team can provide more detailed guidance.
Hang in there, and I hope this helps get your Aqara Hub up and running! Feel free to update us on your progress or if you need more help.
