Aqara integration with Smartthings or LG ThinkQ?

I am going to replace my old LGTV with a new TV with Matter support and looking for insights…

My home is primarily Samsung Android based but we had been with LG OLED TVs for a long time for display qualities. And my smart home is heavily Aqara based with some Hue bulbs and a hue hub.

Does the Aqara ecosystem interface better with Smartthings or LG ThinkQ? They both support Matter but we all know simply supporting Matter doesn’t mean it will work well with other brand stuff…

Many thanks in advance.

@mlaihk It’s great to hear that you’re considering upgrading your home tech setup! Your question about whether the Aqara ecosystem interfaces better with SmartThings or LG ThinQ is quite pertinent, especially with the evolving landscape of smart home technology.

From the reference information available, Aqara devices integrate well with various smart home ecosystems through Matter or ecosystem-specific skills. Specifically, when an Aqara hub supports Matter, it can expose connected devices to Matter-compatible ecosystems, including Samsung SmartThings. This means that if your Aqara setup includes a Matter-supporting hub, it should integrate smoothly with SmartThings.

However, there isn’t specific information in the reference data about direct Aqara integration with LG ThinQ. Generally, while Matter support is a good sign, the actual performance can vary based on how each brand implements support for the protocol.

Given that your home is primarily Samsung Android-based, integrating with SmartThings might offer a more cohesive experience. It’s worth experimenting to find the best fit for your needs. Also, the community here is a great resource, so feel free to keep the conversation going—I’d love to hear how your setup evolves!

@mlaihk Aqara devices can integrate with Samsung SmartThings through Matter or ecosystem-specific cloud integrations. For example, Aqara Hub M100 exposes child devices to Matter-compatible ecosystems like SmartThings when it supports Matter . Hub E1 also makes connected Aqara child devices compatible with SmartThings , and the Presence Sensor FP1E can work with SmartThings via a compatible Aqara Zigbee 3.0 hub . The Smart Video Doorbell G410 Select also integrates with SmartThings, offering features like direct streaming .

Regarding LG ThinkQ, the reference information doesn’t include specific details about integration. Since both platforms support Matter, compatibility may depend on device-specific implementations, but we recommend testing with your new TV or checking for updates in the Aqara community.

If you have further questions or need more details, feel free to share your experience—community insights can be really helpful! For specific compatibility issues, you can also submit feedback via the Aqara Home App (Profile>Help&Feedback>Customer Service).

Hope this helps, and looking forward to hearing how your setup works out!
