Aqara Magic Cube: A Fun and Functional Smart Home Solution

Hey everyone, I’ve been exploring the world of smart home devices, and I wanted to share my experience with the Aqara Magic Cube. It’s been a delightful addition to my setup, especially for my little one! :star2:

I set out to create a fun way for my daughter to control the LED strip in her room. The idea was to use the Magic Cube to adjust brightness, change colors, and even control the electric roller blinds. Here’s how it went:

  1. Brightness Control: I managed to set up an automation where rotating the cube clockwise increases the brightness, and counter-clockwise decreases it. Simple and effective!

  2. Color Changing: I created a few scenes for different colors and used a dropdown menu to cycle through them. However, I noticed that the scenes reset the brightness each time. I’d love to find a way to only change the color while keeping the brightness level the same. Any tips?

  3. Roller Blinds: This one has been a bit tricky. I wanted the cube to adjust the roller blind position by 10% increments with each rotation. I tried using a script with current_position, but it didn’t work as expected. I’m still experimenting with different approaches. If anyone has a solution, I’d be grateful! :bulb:

Overall, the Aqara Magic Cube has been a fantastic way to introduce some interactivity into our smart home setup. It’s not just a gadget—it’s a tool that’s making everyday tasks a bit more magical. :rocket:

Has anyone else had success with the Magic Cube for similar setups? I’d love to hear your experiences and tips! Thanks for reading, and happy smart home tinkering! :star2:
