For 2026, I’d love to see Aqara release a capable PoE-powered wall dashboard panel designed to work well with Home Assistant.
Key idea:
A simple, reliable wall dashboard — not another Zigbee/Matter hub. I’d actually prefer this to be a standalone device, as I would install one on each floor of the house.
Hardware & Installation
- PoE support (primary power & network)
- Optional Wi-Fi for installations with only 230V EU round wall boxes
- EU round wall box mounting (highly desirable)
- 10-inch display or larger
- Low power consumption
- Motion or presence sensor to wake the display when someone approaches
Audio & Interaction
- Good-quality microphone and speaker
- For Home Assistant voice control
- To act as a speaker for Music Assistant
- Smooth, responsive UI (Android-based is fine)
Performance & Use Cases
- Capable hardware for a smooth user experience
- Hardware decoding support for:
- H.264
- H.265
- AV1
- Suitable as a security dashboard:
- Viewing camera streams
- Integration via Frigate NVR in Home Assistant dashboards
Aqara already has the R&D expertise to make something like this truly great, and I believe it would be a very popular addition to modern smart homes.
Happy New Year to everyone in the Aqara community — and best wishes for an exciting 2026! ![]()
