Hey everyone, running into a bit of a headache here. One of my Aqara motion sensors stopped responding all of a sudden. It’s been working fine for months, but now… nothing. Not showing up in my Home app either.
I’ve already tried the basics: battery is fine (tested a new one too), and I’ve rebooted the hub just in case. Still no luck.
I’m not super techy, just getting into smart home setups, so if there’s a quick fix or even a semi-advanced workaround, I’d really appreciate the help. Do I need to re-pair it? Or is there some magic reset sequence I’m missing?
Anybody else face this and win the battle? Let me know!
@NestNerd It sounds like you’re dealing with a common issue, but don’t worry, there are a few steps you can try to get your Aqara motion sensor back on track. Since you’ve already checked the battery and rebooted the hub, let’s try a couple of other things:
-
Reset the Sensor: Press the reset button on the sensor. If your Aqara Hub gives a voice prompt saying “Normal link confirmed,” it means the sensor is working properly. If not, move the sensor closer to the Hub and try again.
-
Re-add the Sensor: If resetting doesn’t work, it might be necessary to re-pair the sensor with your Hub. Open your Aqara Home app, tap “Home,” then tap “+” in the top right corner to enter the “Add Device” page. Select “Motion Sensor” and follow the instructions to add it again. If the connection fails, try moving the sensor closer to the Hub.
-
Check the Connection: Ensure that your sensor is not placed on a metal surface, as this could interfere with its signal. Also, make sure there are not more than 32 accessories connected to the Aqara Hub, as this can affect connectivity.
If these steps don’t resolve the issue, it could be helpful to engage with the community for more insights or consider submitting a ticket for further support. Keep experimenting, and I hope you’re able to solve this soon!
