For those of you using Aqara together with Plejd lights, where do you run your integration between the two?
I see two main options based on the kit I have, hoping to identify the most reliable and clean integration.
Option 1) Apple HomeKit and use that as the brain for any automations.
Option 2) Homey Pro 2023, and use this for integrations.
I value reliability and ease of understanding, things being wife friendly, above having the option to have the maximum flexibility.
Plejd is growing a lot in the nordics, and so is Aqara so this is hopefully relevant for many as the Plejd sensor fleet is a lot weaker than Aqara, so not tempting to stay native.
If anyone has experiences, also intersted in understanding the speed from you i.e. walk in front of a motion sensor, until light tunrs on in another system (Plejd or other non-native Aqara).
@manilsen It’s great to see the growing interest in integrating Aqara sensors with Plejd lights! In terms of integration options, both Apple HomeKit and Homey Pro 2023 are viable choices, each with its strengths.
-
Apple HomeKit: Aqara devices are compatible with Apple HomeKit, allowing seamless integration for automation. HomeKit’s ecosystem is known for its reliability and user-friendly interface, making it an excellent choice for those who value simplicity and ease of use. This could be ideal if you’re looking for a “wife-friendly” solution.
-
Homey Pro 2023: This platform offers more flexibility and supports a wide range of devices, including Aqara sensors. It might be more suitable if you’re interested in creating more complex automations or integrating with other smart home devices beyond what HomeKit supports.
Regarding the responsiveness, the speed at which a motion sensor triggers an action in another system, like Plejd, can depend on several factors, including network stability and the specific devices used. Typically, both HomeKit and Homey Pro are designed to handle such tasks with minimal delay, but user experiences can vary.
If anyone in the community has firsthand experience with these setups, sharing insights on the speed and reliability of these integrations would be incredibly helpful! Feel free to chime in with your thoughts or additional questions.

@manilsen It’s great to see you exploring integrations between Aqara and Plejd—both are popular in the Nordics, so your question is definitely relevant for many! Unfortunately, the reference information we have doesn’t specifically cover integrations with Plejd lights or comparisons between Apple HomeKit and Homey Pro 2023 for this setup.
That said, community experiences are super valuable here! If any members have tried either Apple HomeKit or Homey Pro 2023 as the integration hub, sharing insights on reliability, ease of use, and response speed (like how quickly lights turn on after motion is detected) would be incredibly helpful. Your focus on “wife-friendly” simplicity is relatable too—clean, intuitive setups make all the difference.
If you have specific suggestions for improving integration support, feel free to submit feedback through the Aqara Home App (Profile>Help&Feedback>Customer Service) for our team to review.
