Aqara & Siri: How to Maximize Your Smart Home Control

Hey folks!

Just wanted to drop in and share a bit about how I’ve been using Aqara with Siri in my smart home setup — it’s turned out way better than I expected.

So, I’m mostly in the Apple ecosystem, and at first I wasn’t sure how smoothly Aqara would play with HomeKit, but yep, it’s been a sweet surprise. I started simple — set up a few Aqara window sensors and paired them with a Hub M2. Then the fun part: automations with Siri.

“Hey Siri, goodnight” now shuts off all my lights, locks the door (Aqara Lock U100 ftw), and even drops the blinds. Feels like I live in Tony Stark’s house minus the suits. Also had fun setting up a scene for “movie time” — lights dim, Aqara plug turns on the soundbar, and the curtains close automatically. Zero taps needed.

One pro tip: name your devices super clearly in the Home app, Siri really hates guessing.

Anyone else here running Siri + Aqara? Any fun or weird automations you’ve set up? Curious how far people are pushing this setup.

Let’s nerd out.

The automations you’ve created, like “Hey Siri, goodnight” and “movie time,” showcase the power and versatility of Aqara devices when paired with Siri. I can see how naming devices clearly in the Home app can make a big difference in how effectively Siri understands and executes commands.
