I have been using the Aqara Smart Video Doorbell G4 with Home Assistant via the HomeKit integration. I was wondering if there was a more efficient way to connect it directly.
Is there a way of defining a zone and trigger an alert if there is movement only in that zone? Thanks!
@pietro_falcone It’s great to hear you’re using the Aqara Smart Video Doorbell G4 with Home Assistant! Regarding your query about defining zones and triggering alerts for movement in specific areas, the Smart Video Doorbell G4 indeed supports setting activity zones through the app. By restricting activity zones, you can focus detection on critical areas, which can help reduce unnecessary alerts.
To achieve this, you can set specific activity zones in the Aqara Home app. This allows the doorbell to monitor only the areas you specify, ensuring that you receive alerts for movements in these designated zones only. Unfortunately, the reference information doesn’t specify direct integration with Home Assistant outside of HomeKit, but it sounds like you’re on the right track using the HomeKit integration for your needs.
