Please add the ability to initiate a software-based self-test for grouped devices (more than one unit).
Currently, testing multiple smoke detectors requires creating physical smoke, which is impractical. An option in the Aqara app to test all devices in a group simultaneously would greatly improve usability and convenience.
Hello @raf_u@david the sensor has a self-diagnosis function. Please refer to the product instructions.
It is recommended to perform the sensor self-diagnosis once a month.
There shouldn’t be a group diagnostic; this needs to be done separately on each sensor so you can visually and audibly determine that everything is OK. The instructions also explain how to do this visually and audibly. I can’t imagine how you’ll do this as a group if the sensors are located in different rooms, and especially on different levels of the house.
The main question is how to verify that the Device Alarm Grouping functionality works correctly. Testing a single device may be sufficient initially, but it does not confirm that triggering one device will also activate the other sensors in the group.
While your examples suggest that testing may require multiple testers positioned in different locations to simulate how users would be notified in the event of a genuine fire, in reality, the vast majority of users would be able to perform the test themselves, even in larger properties.
i have 2 smoke sensors. they are grouped, same zone, connected to a e1 hub w excellent signal. if i test one unit by pressing the button and for 10s, the second unit never triggers. how should i test grouping? by buying one of these sprays made to test the detectors??
