Aqara switch h2 Home Assistant

Just got the Aqara switch h2. First i must say the screws were very hard to unscrew had to use an electric screwdriver may be it was just my unit.

Back to my question can the Wireless switch be controlled in home assistant without a aqara hub?

@cheste03 Thank you for sharing your experience with the Aqara switch H2! It’s always helpful to hear about others’ installation experiences.

Regarding your question about controlling the wireless switch in Home Assistant without an Aqara hub, unfortunately, the reference information does not provide specific guidance on using the Aqara switch H2 directly with Home Assistant without a hub. Typically, Aqara devices require a hub to function properly with their ecosystem, especially for integrating with other platforms or automations.

I suggest reaching out to the community here or checking the Home Assistant forums for any workarounds or experiences others might have had. Your query might also inspire future improvements in compatibility and integration options. If you have any further questions or need assistance, feel free to ask!

@cheste03 Thanks for sharing your experience with the screws—sometimes hardware can be a bit tricky, but glad you got it sorted with the electric screwdriver!

Regarding controlling the Aqara Switch H2 in Home Assistant without an Aqara hub: The reference information notes that all Aqara products supporting HomeKit can be connected to Home Assistant via the HomeKit Controller integration. The general steps are: prepare the device (reset, connect to local network), add the HomeKit Controller integration in Home Assistant (Settings > Devices & Services > Add Integration > HomeKit Controller), pair the device using its pairing code, and finalize the setup.

However, this method applies to HomeKit-supported Aqara devices. Since the reference doesn’t specifically mention the Switch H2, we recommend confirming if it supports HomeKit first. If it does, the above steps should work.

Feel free to share your progress—we’d love to hear how it goes! If you have further questions, the community might have additional insights too.
