Aqara U200 abilities through matter integration?

Hi everyone
I have been using the Aqara U200 on two doors for 3 and 9 months and I am very happy with how easy they make the daily life when not having to go and look for a key.

However, we also have a smart home house where a Homey Pro 2023 is the brain of it all - and before I start looking at integrating the smart lock into our smart home I was hoping, someone here could help point me to where I find info on what I will be able to achieve and if I miss out of anything if I do so.

The two smart locks are connected to an M3 - but I am currently not automating anything through the M3.

The reason for me asking about integrating the locks into our smart home is because I would love it if I could do the following (while keeping the current options through the Aqara app via the M3):

  1. My smart home would be able to receive info on which user that locked/unlocked the door
  2. My smart home would be able to use lock/unlock as triggers
  3. My smart home would be able to know the lock state of the smart locks
  4. My smart home would be able to know any locking failures
  5. My smart home would be able to know any incorrectly unlock attempts
  6. MY smart home would be able to know the battery state

Would any of these items be possible if integrating the locks into my smart home platform?

  1. Unfortunately this info is not exposed (and you cannot even use it as Aqara automation triggers)
  2. You should be able to do it, at least I can use it as a trigger in Aqara and HomeKit, both connected via Matter to the U200
  3. I think that the status is reported and you should see it, although some people have problems with current status not reported/updated
  4. Lock errors are reported through Matter
  5. I don’t think this information is exposed
  6. This information is exposed, although the lock reports the mechanism battery, not the keypad battery status

Thanks for the answer.

Regarding 1) When you say that the info is not exposed, does that mean it will never be technically possible to have that info?

Or does it mean that the lock with the current firmware does not share this info via Matter?

I had heard rumors that Aqara could be working on a firmware update to expose these info… So I hoped that was true.

Is there any way to let Aqara know that this would be a big wish for them to add?

Yes. I think some people on this forum suggested this feature (I don’t remember if it was a suggestion about HomeKit or Matter, but it does not matter). Unfortunately you can see who opened the door only if you check the lock logs.
