Hi,
Just wondering if somebody here got any experiences with Alexa family and Aqara locks. The issue I am facing is that we have several Alexa profiles for me, my wife, etc. While they are connected as a Amazon family and can access lists and media, etc. Devices seem to be tied to a single profile, i.e. the lock is in my profile and I can see it and access it through Alexa, if my wife tries with her profile active, Alexa won’t know the device.
I understand that this is an Amazon issue, just wondering if somebody here found a way around that.

@rodemund Hi Bjoern,
It seems you’re running into a common issue with smart home devices when using multiple Alexa profiles. Currently, Aqara locks, like many other smart home devices, are typically linked to a single account or profile on Alexa. This can indeed be a challenge when trying to manage devices across different family member profiles.
Unfortunately, from the reference information provided, there’s no specific workaround listed for this issue. However, here are a few suggestions that might help:
-
Shared Amazon Household: Ensure that your Amazon Household settings allow sharing of smart home devices. This feature can sometimes help in managing devices across profiles.
-
Routines and Groups: Try setting up routines or groups that include the lock. Sometimes, setting the routines under a shared family profile can offer some access flexibility.
-
Contact Amazon Support: Since this is more of an Alexa platform limitation, reaching out to Amazon’s support might provide additional insights or future updates that could address this.
I hope these tips can help you find a workaround. If anyone else in the community has faced similar issues and found a solution, feel free to jump in and share!
Warm regards,
