Aqara U200. Door with one-key entry.

Hi everyone. I wasn’t sure how to explain it in the title.

My front door is configured so that if I insert the key on one side, I can’t insert it on the other. Or rather, I can insert it, but it won’t turn if there’s another key in the opposite lock.

If I understand correctly, the Aqara U200 is installed with the key inserted, since the device “turns the door’s original key.” However, in my case, if the battery dies, it means I can’t get in from the outside because I can’t use the physical key on the other side.

Is this correct, or am I missing something?

Thanks.

@GND003 Hi there! It seems like you’ve got a bit of a tricky situation with your current door setup. The Aqara Smart Door Lock U200 is designed to be compatible with lock cylinders that have an emergency feature. This means that even if there’s a key inserted on one side, the lock can still be operated from the other side using another key.

If your current lock doesn’t support this feature, you might consider replacing your cylinder with one that does. Alternatively, the Aqara U200 also offers an emergency USB-C charging port at the bottom of the outer panel, which can be used with a power bank if the battery runs out and you need to unlock the door from the outside.

If you’re still unsure or your lock setup is unique, it might be helpful to consult with a professional or reach out to Aqara’s customer support for further guidance. Keep the conversation going and see if the community has any more insights to share!

Okay, that’s clear. I’ll contact a professional to figure out how to replace the door cylinder to make it compatible. Thank you very much.

I don’t see that there’s any emergency USB-C charging port accessible from the outside on the U200

Can you be more specific or provide an image?

@ramon3 It seems like there might be some confusion here. According to the reference information available, the Aqara Smart Door Lock U200 indeed includes an emergency USB-C charging port at the bottom of the outer panel, which can be used to power the lock with a power bank if the battery dies. This feature is designed to ensure you can unlock the door from the outside in such scenarios.

However, if you are unable to locate this port or if further clarification is needed, it might be beneficial to check the product documentation or contact Aqara’s customer service for detailed guidance. Community members might also have additional insights to share, and it’s always a good idea to keep the discussion open for more input.

I haven’t been able to see that port that the bot indicates either. In addition, the u200 on the outside has the keyboard and you do not have direct access to the lock. What you can connect the keyboard directly to the light, without having to use batteries. And the lock inside has the USB-C port to charge the battery. Possible error with another lock that does have the port indicated on the outside?

Yes, I think that’s possibly an error from the bot, relating to another lock.

So, I believe it’s very risky to use the Aqara U200 lock with a cylinder that doesn’t have the emergency feature. I changed mine to a suitable cylinder and it works great !

Hi GND003. As the bot suggests, you need to replace the actual cylinder with another one that allows to insert the key from outside and operate the lock even if the internal key is in place. Be careful to buy one that is as wide as the one that you are replacing. It is an easy operation once you have the door open and follow the instructions enclosed with the lock YouTube video instructions on this topic. If you need some more advise, please email me.

Thanks!

Thank’s!

It is the first thing they say about this lock, that a double clutch cylinder is used (emergency). So you can use two keys at the same time.
