Aqara U200 lite Door Lock - Problems adding to thread with Aqara M100

I installed my new Aqara U200 lite door lock without problems. Now I can use it in local mode with the Aqara Home app.

I bought the hub Aqara M100 in order to control the AqaraU200 lite remotely using Mather over Thread.

I’m spending a lot of hours trying to do it without success.

I added my AqaraM100 hub to Apple Home as hub.

From Aqara home I select the Aqara U200 lite and I try to connect to Apple Home using AqaraM100 as hub and I received an error: Conection error with AqaraHome-xxxx.

The detail of the Error speak about the IPv6 configuration of my wifi, but I checked in my iPhone and in my Router and it’s correct from my point of view.

If I try to add the AqaraU200 lite directly from Apple Home I received an error: Not possible to add the accessory.

What I doing wrong?

I want to add another detail.

When I tap in set button to pairing appear two blinks of red light and two strong alert sounds.
Maybe my U200 lite has a not terminated process or some internal problem and can not pairing anymore.
I have reseted and removed and added again to Aqara Home app without changes.

Finally, I managed to get it working!

The red light appeared every time I tried to enter pairing mode because the U200 Lite had already been paired before.

So, I reset the U200 Lite and removed it from the Aqara Home app.

These are the steps I followed to configure it again:

  1. Make sure the Aqara M100 is added to both Apple Home and Aqara Home.
  2. Add the U200 Lite to Apple Home first, using the Matter QR code.
  3. Then add the U200 Lite to the Aqara Home app, using the Aqara QR code.
  4. In the Aqara Home app, select the U200 Lite, go to settings, and choose to connect it to the Aqara Hub via Apple Home.
  • At this point, you’ll need to go into the Apple Home app, find the U200 Lite, go to Settings → Pairing Mode, and copy the pairing code.

So the solution (at least for me) was to pair it to Apple Home first using Matter, and then add it to Aqara Home.
It might work the other way around for others, but in my case, this was the only way that worked.

Thanks so much for sharing your detailed fix! :raised_hands: We know Matter setup can be tricky right now, and we’re actively working with the Matter team to make the pairing process smoother. Really appreciate your patience and effort in figuring this out – your steps will definitely help other users too!

If you run into anything else, just let us know. Happy your U200 Lite is working now!

I did it a different way round to this so I guess there is more ways to skin a cat. I bought the M100 as the U200 and P2 Door and Window Sensor would frequently drop off my Google Home Thread/Matter network.

I removed both from Google Home added the U200 to to the Aqara app using the Magic Pair Code (do not use the simple matter Code).

I then selected the M100 as the Matter Controller in the Aqara app.

In the M100 settings in the Aqara app > Network Information > Thread Network Management I have the Google Nest Thread Network selected.

I then shared the U200 with the Google Home app to add it to the Google Home ecosystem using matter. The Aqara app will generate a code to use for this.

The P2 Sensor is added to Aqara and then Google in the same way.

With the above set up, the U200 interacts instantly with the P2 Sensor using
an Aqara automation, much quicker than using a Google automation that has to go to the cloud for processing. The sensor reacts instantly to the door movement so if I open and close the door really quickly the lock will still re-lock.
