Hi everyone,
first of all, I want to say that I really appreciate Aqara products, both in terms of “functionality and reliability”. My Aqara ecosystem has been running very smoothly for over a year, and I was very satisfied with the “U200 smart lock” in the beginning.
However, after about a year of use, a problem has appeared:
When the motor unit is installed, it sounds “as if the gears are slipping over each other”, and the locking mechanism no longer works correctly.
Interestingly, when I “remove the motor unit” , it seems to work fine. The mechanical lock itself operates very smoothly with a key, I even replaced it before installing the U200 and keep it well maintained (lubricated, etc.).
My suspicion is that the “key tailpiece (cam)” might have a maximum height or length tolerance, and if exceeded, the motor’s gears might not engage properly or could slip under load.
Has anyone experienced a similar issue or knows about the mechanical tolerance limits of the coupling or key interface?
Thanks in advance for your help and insights!
Best Regards
Patrik
