I recently came across the Aqara U200 Smart Lock Kickstarter campaign, and I must say, it’s got me pretty excited! As someone who’s always looking to upgrade their home automation setup, this lock seems like a perfect blend of functionality and design.
What really caught my attention is how Aqara has tailored this lock specifically for European doors. The retrofit solution they’ve designed is impressive, especially for those of us who don’t want to replace our existing door locks entirely. The keypad’s fingerprint sensor and NFC connectivity are features I’ve been hoping to see in a smart lock, and the fact that it can work with North American deadbolt locks with adaptors is a huge plus!
I’m also intrigued by the Apple HomeKey integration, even though it’s not certified yet. The idea of unlocking my door with just a tap from my iPhone or Apple Watch is so seamless and futuristic. Plus, the keypad’s outdoor rating and temperature range make it suitable for all seasons, which is a must for anyone living in areas with extreme weather.
If you’re on the fence about this lock, I’d say it’s definitely worth considering, especially if you’re in Europe. The early bird price on Kickstarter is a great deal, and Aqara’s track record gives me confidence that they’ll deliver on their promises. I’m already planning to add this to my smart home setup once it launches!
