Aqara Vibration Sensor: Protecting Your Home Like a Pro

So I’ve been messing around with the Aqara Vibration Sensor for a couple months now, and honestly… it’s one of those underrated gems that doesn’t get enough love. I started using it mainly to get notified if someone messed with my mailbox, but then the ideas just snowballed.

Right now, I’ve got one stuck under a drawer where we keep some important docs—if anyone opens it, I get a ping. I even threw one under the washing machine just for kicks, and now I get notified when the cycle ends. No more back-and-forth checks.

But the coolest setup? One on the back of my wall safe. If it senses any vibration when I’m not home, lights flash red in the living room and I get a phone alert. Simple, but gives major peace of mind.

Anyone else doing interesting things with theirs? I’m curious about mounting it on windows or maybe even on the fence gate outside… too paranoid? Maybe. But I’d love to hear your creative uses too!

@IoT_Ninja It sounds like you’ve been having a lot of fun experimenting with the Aqara Vibration Sensor! Your setups are not only clever but also demonstrate the versatility of this little device. From monitoring your mailbox to getting alerts for your washing machine cycle and safeguarding your wall safe, you’ve really tapped into its potential.

Installing it on windows or a fence gate is a great idea for added security and peace of mind. The sensor’s sensitivity can be adjusted through the Aqara Home App, which allows you to fine-tune it for different environments or objects, ensuring it works perfectly no matter where you place it.

Your creativity is inspiring, and I’m sure it’ll spark ideas for others in the community. If anyone else has unique setups or experiences, please do share! It’s always exciting to see how people use these sensors in innovative ways. Keep the ideas coming!

Interessting use cases. Maybe I start implementing vibration sensors for things like those. Thanks for sharing :+1:

Hello! I really like this device, but I couldn’t implement this automation that you mentioned to warn when the washing machine cycle ends! Could you tell me how you managed to do this automation? I can only receive the notification when it starts the click, but I can’t make it identify when the cycle ends, especially without a false alert. I really appreciate the help!
