Aqara Water Leak Sensor not pairing with Video Doorbell G410 Hub

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some help or ideas because I’m a bit stuck.

My Aqara Video Doorbell G410 with the integrated hub is working perfectly. Recently, I bought three Aqara Water Leak Sensors and I want to pair them via Zigbee with the doorbell hub.

In the Aqara app, I can select Add Accessory, choose the Water Leak Sensor, and the app correctly shows the Video Doorbell G410 hub as the device to pair with. When I start the pairing process, the hub even confirms via voice promptthat it is ready / in pairing mode.

However, the pairing itself never completes.

I’ve tried:

  • Resetting the Water Leak Sensors multiple times
  • Making sure the sensors are blinking blue (battery seems fine)
  • Repeating the whole process with three different sensors

Unfortunately, none of the sensors can be paired successfully.

Has anyone experienced something similar or has an idea what else I could try?
Is there maybe a compatibility limitation or a known issue with the G410 hub and Water Leak Sensors?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

@a_s_90 Hi there! Sorry to hear you’re having trouble pairing your Water Leak Sensors with the G410 Doorbell Hub—let’s try to troubleshoot this step by step.

First, good to confirm the G410 is indeed a compatible hub for sub-devices like the Water Leak Sensor . Since the app recognizes the hub and it’s entering pairing mode (via voice prompt), we can focus on common pairing hurdles.

From community FAQs, possible reasons for pairing failures include distance, hub device limits, or firmware/app version issues . You’ve already reset the sensors and checked the blue blinking (great moves!), so here are a few more angles to try:

  1. Check hub firmware & app version: Ensure both the Aqara Home app and your G410 hub’s firmware are up to date. Outdated software can sometimes block new device additions .
  2. Move sensor very close to the hub: Zigbee signals can be finicky—try placing the sensor within 1-2 meters of the G410 during pairing. Even a small distance might interfere .
  3. Check hub device limit: The G410, like most Aqara hubs, supports up to 32 sub-devices. If you already have many accessories connected, that could block new pairings .
  4. Power cycle the hub: Unplug the G410 for 30 seconds, plug it back in, and wait for it to fully restart before trying to pair again .

Have you tried these yet? If not, give them a shot and let us know how it goes! If the issue persists, it might help to check if other sub-devices can pair with the G410 (to rule out a hub-specific problem) .
