Alright, let me tell you how this little Aqara leak sensor saved my butt last week.
I’m no smart home guru—more like a curious beginner messing around with gadgets. I got the Aqara Water Leak Sensor a few months ago and tossed it near my washing machine. Didn’t think much of it after setup, honestly.
Fast forward to last Thursday. I’m at work, middle of a meeting, and boom—notification on my phone from the Aqara app: “Water leak detected.” I thought nah, maybe it’s glitching. But I couldn’t shake off the feeling, so I called my roommate. Long story short—hose had popped off the washer, and water was going everywhere.
We were able to shut it off before the floor turned into a swimming pool. If I hadn’t gotten that alert, it would’ve been a full-on disaster. Hardwood floors = toast.
Point is, if you’re debating getting one of these sensors, just do it. Stick it under sinks, by the water heater, washer—wherever. It’s cheap peace of mind.
Just curious—who else here has a similar save story with Aqara sensors? Where do you guys place yours?
