I have my G4 connected to my Synology NAS to store the recordings. What I can see since I did that, is that the list of files on my Synology does not fit the list of recordings in the app. I have much more recordings on my Synology than the app is showing.
Example yesterday, August 12th. I can see 30 recordings in the app but 172 recordings in my Synology. I checked the time frame and the 30 recordings in the app are between 6am and 8 pm. Files between 6am and 8 pm are 46 and outside that time frame there are over 100 files (recordings) that are not shown in the app.
The recording in the app based on movement is very acurat but in the files Ican hardly find any movement.
Yes, I disconnected the NAS and connected it again, same issue.
Anyone able to confirm this?
Thanks!

Firstly, please confirm if your doorbell is powered by an external power. When powered by an external power, the SD card can work in a 7 × 24-hour recording mode. However, the NAS of the G4 doorbell is implemented by transferring the SD card recording, so there may be a situation where both the NAS storage and SD card have a lot of recordings. On the cloud recording timeline, only events such as lingerer detection, face detection are recorded, and recording will only be triggered when someone passes by the doorbell. Therefore, its recording quantity will be less than that of the SD card.
To confirm if it is the reason I described, you can switch the recording mode of the SD card to event recording mode, and then observe if the number of recordings on the SD card, NAS, and cloud recording timelines is consistent.
Yes, the doorbell is powered by external power. The SD card has always been set to event driven.
Just for my understanding, what I see in the app is cloud recording even though I have SD card installed and NAS implemented? And you say the device stores first on the SD card and then moves the recording to the NAS?
Thanks for confirming.
Yes, I can confirm this as I have four Aqara cameras at home. After each recording is made to the SD card, the same video clip is transferred to the NAS in short clips of less than a minute. It all depends on your settings, such as continuous recording, motion detection recording, or something else. Also, remember to power your device properly.
Interesting post I do have a DS918 does that work
@d_duskan Hi, yes I save my camera recordings on my DS718+ without any problems. I have two Camera Hub G3s and two Camera G100s.
The Aqara app automatically creates folders for each of your cameras and suggests saving everything to the default video folder on your NAS. Of course, you can also change the file storage location.
I don’t See issues storing recordings on my NAS. I just don’t get why I don’t see many recordings shown in my NAS in the App. Recording is set to movement driven and the doorbell hast permanent external power.
If No one else hast that Problem I might reset the doorbell.
This happened to me once with my Camera Hub G3. After a factory reset on the camera, everything worked fine again. Therefore, I recommend resetting your doorbell.
Definitely recommend a hard restart of the unit. I’ve had this happen a few times, and that’s always fixed it.
So I did a reset but that didn’t fix the issue. Different to before I can see now a couple recordings at night (movement driven) where I can’t see any movement. Just a few every night so I’ll monitor that. And I disconnected my NAS for now as the recording went like permanent. Even though the setting is movement driven.
Thanks for now.
