Automating Home Lighting with Philips Hue

Hey everyone, I’ve been really enjoying setting up my Philips Hue lighting system. It’s been a game-changer for creating a cozy atmosphere in my home! :star2: I recently decided to automate my lighting to match the seasons, and I thought I’d share my experience in case anyone else is looking to do something similar.First, I wanted to create a warm, inviting setup for the winter months. I decided to use the Philips Hue White Ambiance Runner Dual Spotlights to simulate natural daylight. This helps me feel more energized in the mornings and relaxed in the evenings. The ability to adjust the color temperature from 2200K to 6500K has been fantastic for creating different moods throughout the day.I also set up some simple automations using my smart hub. For example, when I turn on my TV, the lights dim automatically to reduce glare. It’s such a small thing, but it makes a big difference in the viewing experience. I used the built-in routines feature to link my TV’s power state to the lighting adjustments, and it works like a charm! One thing I struggled with at first was getting the live feed from my Wyze Cam v2 to work properly. After some troubleshooting, I realized it was a temporary issue on their end. Now, I can monitor my outdoor cameras seamlessly, which gives me peace of mind knowing my property is secure.Another project I’m proud of is integrating my smart plugs with motion sensors. I have a PIR motion sensor connected to an LED strip in my hallway. Now, the lights automatically turn on when I walk by, and they dim after a few minutes of inactivity. It’s a small automation, but it’s incredibly convenient!I’d love to hear how others are automating their lighting setups. Do you have any favorite automations or tips for getting the most out of your Philips Hue system? Let’s share and inspire each other! :handshake:
