Hello,
With the current heatwave, I’m trying to set up an automation that sends me a notification when the outdoor temperature becomes lower than the indoor temperature, so I know it’s a good time to open the windows.
I’ve tried creating this automation in both the Aqara app and the Home app, but I can only select a fixed temperature threshold—not the temperature from another sensor as the comparison value.
Is this possible? Thanks in advance for your support!
Hello, welcome to the forum.
Automation 2.0 does not have the ability to do comparative temperature automation. I created automation for a house in which the IF section specifies the room temperature, the WHEN section specifies the temperature lower than the room temperature, THEN turn on the rainbow backlight of the T2M lamp.
Welcome to the forum.first thing first HomeKit doesn’t allow that kind of notifications.in home kit only can chose to turn On some device you chose when temp raise or drops.now on aqara home app using the normal or T1 sensor you can do this automation:
-go to automations then press the + icon and chose “When” add trigger and chose your temperature sensor
After that you will see some options to chose from and chose what you need from there
Next seep is “Then” add trigger and here you chose Notifications and alerts
After that chose “push notifications” there you have 2 option default or custom on default aqara will send you an basic notification and on custom you can write what exactly that notification will show when you get it
This is a simple but effective automation from aqara home app.
Now if you have the w100 then you can open aqara home app go to w100 page and there press the 3 dots on top and you will see “alarm settings” were you can set high low temp also humidity and the Aqara app will directly send you an alarm notification when those values are reached.
Hope this helps you and remember this can’t be made from HomeKit only aqara home app.
