I have a home automation system consisting of two M1S Gen 2 hubs and one M3 hub, with around 77 accessories connected across three floors (one hub per floor and the M3 in the middle).
I’ve set up two automations:
When the security is armed: This automation activates the night lights on the two M1S Gen 2 hubs to indicate that the security is armed and locks the U200.
When the security is disarmed: This automation turns off the night lights while keeping the U200 locked.
However, I’m encountering a problem where these automations randomly stop functioning. The only way to restore their operation is by editing and saving them again. It’s worth noting that I have numerous other automations that work without any issues.
All systems are updated to the latest firmware, and so is the Aqara app. The failure of these automations occurs unpredictably; sometimes they run perfectly for a week, and other times they stop multiple times within a single week.
Unfortunately, Aqara support has not been helpful thus far. Their responses have been limited to the usual suggestions of restarting the hubs or updating the app, and they have ceased communication.
I would greatly appreciate any assistance in debugging this issue.
Theoretically, this should be cloud automation, check it in the automation itself, if it is cloud, then it is a problem with the Internet or the server does not periodically give a trigger to work.
Unfortunately, I encountered a problem where they say gateway but it’s actually CLOUD. Make additional automation using a wireless button that turns on the security, then disconnect the internet and check if it’s local or cloud.
I have re-created the automations and the option is set automatically to “Gateway Execution” and I do not have any option to change it.
I have checked and all my automations are set to “Gateway Execution”.
Unless that information is not trustable.
Could it be that I have setup the hub cluster making the M3 the leader?
These options are to decide what devices trigger the alarm. I have setup this properly.
I want to visually show if the security is armed or disarmed. To do so, I have created an automation that switches on the night lights of the two M1S Gen2 hubs I have, switching both off when the security is disarmed.
In addition I lock the U200 in case is not locked when arming the security.
There is no other way to do this without automation, not until Aqara adds the options to the security settings.
I’m experiencing the exact same issue. I opened a ticket with Aqara support, but it hasn’t led to any resolution.
I tried deleting the automation, restarting the hub, recreating the automation, and so on.
I’m using the same trigger to activate a red light. I eventually got tired of the back-and-forth with technical support, especially since they only respond every couple of days, which slows down the process significantly. I ended up moving the automation to Home Assistant.
If Aqara specialists are reading us, then there is a proposal to expand the “arming/disarming” splash screen with additional equipment activation functions.
I wanted to share my experience with you. I’ve encountered the same issue as you. Sometimes, the automation in the Aqara app for the security system works perfectly, but then it stops working. I’ve found a solution: restarting the entire system, including the Aqara hub and Apple TV, seems to fix it.
There is no issue with automation created in the homekit.
Hi. Thanks for sharing. In my case, unfortunately, nothing seems to work.
Anyway, I got a message from Aqara suppost that, after looking into my account carefully, they confirmed the problem will be solved on June 30th. I am not sure if with a firmware, cloud, or app update.
