AWAITING UK Smart Plugs or Double Sockets

With over 30 Aqara products currently running in my smart home I would like to replace the 16 x matter smart plugs with UK Aqara versions if possible to have only one reliable system running as I do get some issues with the current ones.

This would be very interesting for me, particularly if double gang sockets could do individual power monitoring for each socket. I would replace many sockets with these

UK 2 gang wall sockets would be great :+1:

Hello @cranefamilyhome @richard9 @mr_mr
There will be sockets for the UK, they should be more functional than the EU version, that’s all I can tell you friends .

Is there a hint at release date?

Hey… @richard9 as far as I know, beta testing is finished for it… so I think official release should be this year hopefully  :x2fozabcpx9xrbxmdpseb3_61:

Was it established during beta testing if the sockets turn the power off when entering pairing mode or updating the firmware? I was thinking about getting one to monitor the power on my server and network set up but if they do this it would mean a UPS would be needed to use them in this scenario.

I wasn’t not participating in the test. But @UKAndyC should know the answer

Obviously because the official launch has not happened yet, we are unable to say too much. That being said, I will just say there are options. You shouldn’t have to wait too long to know the full details. Hope you have a good day.

Hi Andy, I’ve just got one and the power seems to cut off and on when pairing, what were the options for this you mentioned?

Hi, my apologies, I’m not sure what you’re asking. It could be because I have the flu. Do you mean Zigbee/Thread? Also if it helps, I did a full review here - https://youtu.be/FTvVqAJerMo

I originally asked if the power was cut from the socket when it entered pairing mode, and you replied that “there are options”. Hope you get better soon.

Ah I see, since it is hard wired into the mains, the power is always there, when it switches from Zigbee to Thread and vice versa, the power is still there.

Strange, my one momentarily cuts the power going out of the sockets when it enters pairing.

When I was installing my 3 sockets, obviously the power is off at the main fuse board. When you turn the power back on all the sockets went into pairing mode. They all showed up in the Aqara app ready to be added.

I only added them one at a time so the other 2 sockets exited pairing mode before I got round to adding them. I had to use the button, double press and hold to enter pairing mode again. On one occasion this left the socket powered on. When I changed the mode from thread the default to Zigbee, during the protocol switching part in the app (third step), the sockets did power off, you hear the click and the blue light around the button goes off. I had nothing plugged in at this point so it was not an issue.

Only had them for under 24hrs so not experienced a firmware update and how that works, so I’m sorry but I don’t know if it powers off the socket during the firmware update. My LightwaveRF setup usually gives you a heads up if the device, a socket or a switch will power cycle during the process, in that case you can take action before upgrading the firmware. Lets hope Aqara do the same.
