🎉Awesome DIY! Integrated Aqara into my smart home setup

Hey folks! Just wanted to drop in and share my little weekend DIY project where I finally pulled the trigger and fully integrated Aqara into my smart home setup.

I’ve been juggling a few different brands—bit of a mess, honestly—but after getting the Aqara Hub M2 and a bunch of sensors (motion, door/window, temp/humidity), it all started to click. I’ve got automations running with Home Assistant and Alexa, and let me tell you, it’s dreamy when the lights turn on exactly how and when you want them.

The real gamechanger? Setting up automations based on presence detection + temp triggers. My AC now chills just the right room when someone’s in it. Totally worth the tinkering.

If you’re thinking about merging Aqara with your existing ecosystem, it’s surprisingly smooth—just requires a little patience and a few coffee-fueled evenings.

Would love to hear what setups you all are rocking, and any fun automations you’d recommend!

@LightingLlama It’s fantastic to hear about your successful integration of Aqara into your smart home! The Aqara Hub M2, with its 360° infrared control and compatibility with Home Assistant and Alexa, indeed makes managing diverse devices much simpler. Automations based on presence detection and temperature triggers are truly a gamechanger, making your home’s environment both comfortable and efficient. It sounds like you’ve created a seamless experience where everything works just right.

Thank you for sharing your journey—it’s an inspiring example of how patience and a bit of tinkering can lead to great results. I’d love to hear from others in the community about their setups and any unique automations they’ve implemented. Keep experimenting and sharing your insights!
