I’ve been using Vera for quite some time now and I must say, the battery indicator feature has been a lifesaver for me. When one of my battery-operated devices stops communicating, Vera does an excellent job of letting me know by displaying a black battery icon with a question mark. It’s clear and unambiguous that something is off.
However, I’ve noticed that HomeWave handles this a bit differently. Instead of the black battery icon, it shows a green one, which I assume is based on the last reported battery level from Vera. While green might indicate a healthy battery, in this case, it’s misleading because Vera hasn’t received any updates from the device.
I think having a consistent way of indicating communication issues across both platforms would be really helpful. It would make troubleshooting easier, especially for someone who manages both Vera and HomeWave.
Is there a possibility that HomeWave could adopt Vera’s approach for the battery indicator when communication is lost? I believe this small change could make a big difference in user experience.
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this! ![]()
