I see a lot of people asking here about battery life. I have a number of motion sensors that have been in a high-traffic area for 3 years, and they are still doing great! I don’t know how to check battery level, but, the app still says the battery level is “Normal”.
@david24 Thank you for sharing your experience with the Aqara Motion Sensors! It’s fantastic to hear that they’ve been performing well even in a high-traffic area for three years. The long battery life is indeed one of their strong suits.
For users who are curious about checking battery levels, while the Aqara Home app will notify you when the battery is low (below 2.8V for a day), there isn’t a direct way to see the battery status otherwise. It’s reassuring that your app indicates the battery level as “Normal,” suggesting that the sensors are still operating efficiently.
Your feedback is invaluable to the community, as it highlights the durability and reliability of these devices. Feel free to share more of your smart home setup and insights!
@david24 Thanks for sharing your positive experience with the Aqara motion sensors! It’s great to hear they’ve held up well in a high-traffic area for 3 years—that’s a solid testament to their battery performance. For context, some models like the Motion Sensor P1 are even rated for a 5-year battery life under normal usage .
As for checking the battery level, Aqara devices are designed to be low-consumption, so real-time battery status can be tricky to monitor directly. However, the app will send a low battery notification if the battery level drops below 2.8V continuously for a day . Since your app still shows “Normal,” that’s a good indicator things are running smoothly.
