Anyone experienced about the Aqara door and windows sensor P2 have only a week battery life? I have tried few batteries with different brands, but still the same results. I am installing this for my entrance door and that only 10mm close and non metal surfaces

Hi welcome to the forum.if you look into the HomeKit the percentage it is not accurate.check the Aqara app and see what said there about your batterie as if there says normal then everything is ok
Hi , a week of battery life is not satisfying and normal- seems there’s something draining your battery fast. What does the log data’s say? How is connection , how many openings/ closing do you have. How many Matter system are you using ( Apple home, Aqara , home assistant, SmartThings)
Yes, just Aqara app and it is showing low battery and ask for replacement. My home with Alexa matter only, nothing else
Thanks for advising,
We used to have approx. <10 times door open/close everyday, my home is connecting via matter with Alexa, through Aqara M100, x1 Aqara door-windows p2 and x1 motion sensor p2, nothing else…
I do not exactly know how the batterie should last in thread mode but even opening 10 times per day should drain that much.did you contact aqara support and tell them this issue?
Engaged and their suggestion is connect with seller to ask for exchange, even not with any advise for what is the problem and happening….
For me it also looks like a faulty device! Is the firmware up to date?
Yes because if you can return it, it is the easy way as checking such an device to see why drain the batterie so fast take a lot of time and my be they never find what is the cause as sometimes devices can have software issues .so if you can return it or replace it then this is the better and faster solution.if I would had an device that gives me problems and I can return it or replace it I would just do that and see how the second device will work.this way even you can see if that device you got replaced it was really an faulty one or not.
Totally agree with those saying it’s likely a defective device. I had one P2 that drained very quickly. A bot asked if it was on a metal door. It was. It was on my metal sliding glass door.
To test the metal door theory I moved the P2 to a wood door. It still drained within a couple of days. And the other P2 I put on the metal door is still doing great - about 95% after several weeks and holding steady. All of my devices are connected via Matter.
It was simply one bad P2 door sensor. I have three P2 door sensors and they all work quickly and reliably.
Metal doors seem to be no problem for these sensors. I have two metal doors working perfectly.
