Hi everyone, I wanted to share my experience with the SONOFF SNZB-04 Zigbee door contacts. I’ve been using these devices for a few months now, and they’ve been pretty reliable and useful for my home automation setup. However, there’s one feature that I’ve been hoping to see improved: battery status reporting. Currently, the battery level always shows as 100%, which isn’t very helpful for proactive maintenance.
One of the reasons I love these door contacts is their versatility. They allow soldering wires across the reed switch, which is great for integrating them into custom projects like monitoring sump pump water levels or even mouse trap sensors. This functionality makes them a valuable addition to my setup, but accurate battery monitoring would take their usefulness to the next level.
I’ve reached out to the developer community to see if there’s interest in working on a driver update that properly reports battery levels. If anyone has insights or suggestions on how this could be achieved, I’d be really grateful for your input. Your experiences and expertise could help make this feature a reality!
Thanks for reading, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts!
