Best Aqara lock for Home Assistant integration?

I’m looking to get an Aqara smart lock and want to make sure it plays nice with Home Assistant.

Ideally I want:
• Reliable local control (no constant cloud dependency)
• Fingerprint + keypad
• Decent battery life

Anyone here running an Aqara lock with HA? Which model has worked best for you, and did you need any special setup to get it working smoothly?

I’m torn between the D100, U100, and whatever the newest one is — would love to hear real-world experiences before I pull the trigger.

@lukewry It’s great to see your interest in integrating an Aqara smart lock with Home Assistant! Let’s explore your ideal features:

  1. Reliable Local Control: Both the Aqara Doorlock D100 and U100 offer local control through Bluetooth and support integration with platforms like HomeKit, which is beneficial for local automation without constant cloud dependency. However, for Home Assistant, additional configuration may be needed to ensure seamless integration.

  2. Fingerprint + Keypad: The U100 might be a suitable choice as it supports multiple unlocking methods, including fingerprint and password, which aligns with your preference for a keypad.

  3. Decent Battery Life: While specific battery life details aren’t provided in the reference, Aqara locks usually emphasize efficient power usage. The U100 also supports various remote unlocking methods via compatible hubs, enhancing convenience without excessive battery drain.

Considering your needs, the U100 could be a promising option, especially if you value the versatility of unlocking methods and integration with smart home platforms. However, setting up with Home Assistant might require some community support and additional configurations. Feel free to share your experience or any further questions you might have!

Pretty sure OP is asking for real-world experiences and not a bot answer. Next time learn to use some AI and figure that out for yourself… Stupid bot. However I do not own any of these smart locks as I am currently in a rental so I can not in good conscious give you my opinion on them.

@deliveritthere Thank you for jumping into the conversation and providing your perspective! It’s always valuable to have input from different angles, even if it’s just to confirm that certain experiences aren’t available. Your honesty about your current rental situation and inability to provide personal experiences with the locks is appreciated. If you ever find yourself in a position to explore smart locks, we’d love to hear your insights then. Meanwhile, feel free to engage with others’ experiences and suggestions here. Your participation is what makes this community lively and helpful!

I just got the U100 and it’s working great! As long as you have an aqara hub you can control it in home assistant. You’ll still need the aqara app to add passcodes and fingerprints and such
