Hi! Just curious what everyone here’s recommendation would be for a product that will detect presence even when not moving and just sitting on the couch for long periods of time. All I would like for now are the lights automated to turn off after everyone has left the room for X minutes, then turn on when someone enters the room.
I have been trying to get the FP300 but it is out of stock and wondering if I should just get a FP2 for now, keep holding out, or go with another option.
Honestly, I think it depends on exactly what you need to do with it. the FP2 will (certainly do well with presence detection, even if not moving for an extended time. But depending on whether you need to do other things, would depend on whether the FP2, FP300, or the recently announced FP400 (I think that was the name announced at CES) would be the best fit. But it will likely take while before the new FP400 is released). Maybe this will help: Aqara FP2 vs. FP300: Which One is the Right Fit for Your Smart Home? – Aqara LLC
Hi @Hermit.Style I have all three in use (FP2, Fp1e and FP300)
I have installed the Fp2 in my living room, because I want to control more areas which is the biggest point of FP2 in my opinion. Only bad is that you need to wire it!
If can’t wire it and you just need presence sensor, then take FP300
And if you need just one area to control and can wire it… Take FP1E
I use an fp1e for exactly this. It works great if you only care to know it the room is empty or not. I have an FP2 I’ve been experimenting with. Presence sensors are a new toy for me and they are pretty cool.
