Hey Blink community! I’ve been using Blink cameras for a while now, and overall, I’m really impressed with the quality and ease of use. However, I’ve encountered a few issues that I’m hoping someone might have insights on or solutions for.
First off, I’ve noticed that when I rename my Blink devices, the original DSN (Device Serial Number) isn’t retained in the app. This is a bit frustrating because if I ever need to troubleshoot an issue, I have to go through the hassle of removing the device from the wall or digging it out of the box it came in to find the DSN. It would be super helpful if the app could store this information permanently, just like how other devices handle it. Has anyone else experienced this, or maybe found a workaround?
Another issue I’ve been dealing with is inconsistent motion detection on one of my Blink outdoor cameras. I recently subscribed to the Blink plan to ensure all my devices are covered, but one of my cameras isn’t picking up motion at all. I’ve tried all the usual troubleshooting steps—replacing the batteries, ensuring it’s armed, adjusting sensitivity—but nothing seems to work. The other cameras are functioning perfectly, so it’s definitely isolated to this one. I’m curious if others have had similar experiences or if there’s a known fix for this.
Lastly, I’ve come across a peculiar issue where two of my Blink cameras are displaying pictures that I can’t seem to turn off. Whenever I view them, that image stays on the screen, and I can’t cycle through or view live footage. It’s a bit of a nuisance, especially if I’m trying to monitor activity in real-time. I’m wondering if this is a software glitch or if there’s a setting I’m missing that could resolve this.
I’d love to hear from anyone who might have encountered these issues or has suggestions on how to resolve them. Blink’s customer support has been great so far, but it’s always reassuring to get feedback from the community as well. Thanks in advance for any help or advice you can offer!
