Blink Camera System Upgrade and Cloud Storage Insights

I wanted to share my experience with upgrading my Blink camera system and how it has improved my home security setup. As one of the original purchasers, I was limited to the basic cloud storage plan, but after upgrading to the second-generation module, adding a doorbell camera, and the new floodlight camera, I’ve noticed a significant improvement in both performance and reliability.

One thing I was concerned about was whether the upgrade would affect my existing free cloud storage. After reaching out to Blink support, I was told that the upgrade shouldn’t impact my existing storage, and so far, that’s been the case. However, I’ve noticed that the number of videos stored each day seems to have a limit, especially on the free 7-day plan. For instance, I recorded 47 videos in a single day, but there should have been more. Storage doesn’t seem to be an issue, just the number of videos that day. I’m still figuring out if this is a known limitation or if there’s a way to optimize it.

Another interesting feature I’ve been exploring is restricting access to certain cameras for specific users. This could be really useful for sharing footage with family members without giving them access to all cameras. I’m curious if others have implemented this and how it works in practice.

Overall, I’m very pleased with the upgrade and the added functionality it brings. If anyone has tips or tricks for maximizing the system’s capabilities, I’d love to hear them! Happy automating! :rocket:
