Blink Doorbell Troubleshooting and Resolution

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience with the Blink Doorbell 1st Gen. I recently encountered an issue where pressing the button caused the doorbell to stop working and it wouldn’t record for about half an hour until it rebooted. At first, I was a bit puzzled and concerned about the reliability of the device. After some research and troubleshooting, I found that this issue might be related to a firmware problem or a temporary glitch in the system.

I decided to try a few things to resolve the problem. First, I checked if there were any firmware updates available for my Blink Doorbell. Unfortunately, it seems like the 1st Gen model doesn’t support the latest updates, which might be why I was experiencing this issue. I then reached out to Blink’s customer support, and they confirmed that this is a known issue for older models.

As a workaround, I’ve been manually rebooting the device whenever it freezes. While it’s not a permanent solution, it has been keeping things running smoothly for now. I’m also considering upgrading to a newer model that might have better reliability and support.

I thought I’d share this experience in case anyone else is dealing with similar issues. It’s always helpful to hear from others who might have encountered the same problem and how they resolved it. If anyone has additional tips or solutions, I’d love to hear them!

Cheers,
