Building a smart home in the Costa Rican rainforest is an exciting yet challenging endeavor. This has allowed us to maintain a stable connection, which is essential for controlling our smart devices.
Another challenge has been selecting the right smart devices that can withstand the tropical climate. We’ve opted for weatherproof Z-Wave switches and sensors, which have proven to be durable and reliable. Additionally, we’ve invested in solar-powered solutions to ensure our smart home remains energy-efficient and sustainable.
One of the highlights of our project has been integrating a smart lighting system. We’ve installed dimmable LED lights throughout the house, which not only provide ample lighting but also contribute to energy savings. The ability to control these lights remotely via our smartphones has been a game-changer, especially during the rainy season when we spend more time indoors.
