Got a pair of white T2 bulbs in the UK, connected them fine directly to Apple Homekit seem to be working fine, but they have gone un-responsive in Apple Home, so turned them off and on to no avail.
Decided to reset them and try to add them into the Aqara app first, it will find the bulb, accept the code then try to add them into Aqara_Home which is not what my Apple Home is called and will fail.
So reset them tried to add them directly into Apple home and just get the error could not add the bulbs.
I have a G3 Camera hub, and a G410 both connected and showing up fine in Apple Home, my apple TV is hard wired and on the same VLAN as my wireless network for my apple home devices.
If I add them into the Aqara home after resetting them power cycling 5 times, they will be detected, will ask to join matter network and then come up with “Unable to Add Accessory”
So far not a fan of Aqara bulbs.
Sometimes it’s easier to bind it to Apple home first and create a new Matter there and bind it to Aqara

I have never had good luck with these in thread. They are great in zigbee.

Problem is I cant bind them to either Apple Home or the Aqara Hub no matter which order I do it in.
No idea how to make them Zigbee only gives me an option for Thread with them
I switched to home assistant. I was using the G410 to bring it in via matter but my 410 has failed while waiting for customer service to respond.
2 for 2 this is how my Aqara support experience has been. They ended up refunding me for all of my bulbs to their credit after I 1 star reviewed them for lack of thread operation.
I tossed the bulbs when my hub died. They were totally useless in thread mode. Might consider returning them if they won’t switch to zigbee in the Aqara app. My cheap linkind bulbs were significantly better than the T2 in thread mode.
Hello, to switch to Zigbee lamps T2 you need.
- Delete it from the app.
- Reinstall and on the first window switch to Zigbee protocol.
- Installation will take some time, then everything is standard.
Just for information, I have a problem now (I’m writing about myself) that I’m using my wife’s iPhone to switch to Zigbee. It doesn’t want to switch from Android.
