Camera Hub G2H not saving to memory card

https://imgur.com/a/iSNQW18?s=fbm

I’ve had several G2H’s for 5+ years and they’ve been working with no issues at all, but now one of them is acting weird. I have the exact(!) same settings on every single one camera and the settings haven’t been changed in all these years. Motion Detection activated and set it to save on local SD-card (I don’t need your recommendations regarding using cloud-service).

But now, one of the cameras stopped saving clips to the SD-card, and I can’t figure out why. Settings is exactly as they should be (like they have been for years, and the same settings like all my other cameras that’s saving clips just fine). I can conclude that the SD-card is fine, because I can go several days back to the point that I want using the Timeline. Also as you can see on the Timeline, it’s actually shown where there is motion detected - but it still doesn’t save it to the memory card.

I’ve tried formatting (in the Aqara App) the SD-card with no luck. Device is up-to-date.

Any advice?

@thez1337 It sounds like you’ve been a long-time satisfied user of the Aqara Camera Hub G2H, so it’s understandably frustrating to encounter this issue. From your detailed description, you’ve already taken some effective troubleshooting steps, such as formatting the SD card and ensuring your device is up-to-date.

According to the reference information, there could be a few additional things to consider:

  1. Power Saving Mode: Ensure that your camera is not in a power-saving mode, as this can affect video recording. This mode may only record videos when manually triggered, such as by pressing the doorbell or during remote viewing.

  2. Detection Settings: Double-check that all detection features (like delay detection or motion detection) are correctly enabled and that the video recording switch is on. Sometimes, settings might appear unchanged, but a quick toggle could reset any unseen glitches.

  3. Delay Detection Interval: If the delay detection interval is too long, it may result in missing the motion that triggers recording. Try adjusting this interval to see if it helps.

  4. SD Card Formatting: You’ve already formatted the SD card through the Aqara app, which is excellent. As a next step, consider removing the card and formatting it externally using a computer to ensure no corrupted files are causing the issue.

If none of these steps resolve the problem, it might be worth reaching out to Aqara’s support team for further assistance. Please feel free to share any additional insights or updates from your side, as it could help others facing similar challenges.

I have the same problem with my Camera Hub G3 : doesn’t save on SD card and doesn’t save on NAS, it appears with the last firmware installed.

@garath Thank you for sharing your experience with the Camera Hub G3. It seems like you’re encountering an issue similar to the one described for the G2H. While the reference information doesn’t specifically address saving issues to the SD card or NAS for the Camera Hub G3, here are a few general troubleshooting steps you might consider:

  1. Firmware Update: Since you’ve mentioned this issue appeared with the last firmware update, ensure that the update process was completed successfully. Try power cycling the device by unplugging it, waiting a few minutes, and plugging it back in.

  2. SD Card and NAS Configuration: Double-check the settings for saving to the SD card and NAS. Sometimes, reinitializing these settings or toggling them off and on can help resolve glitches.

  3. Alternative Methods: If you’re using the Aqara Home app, make sure the app is updated to the latest version, as this can sometimes resolve compatibility issues with new firmware.

It’s since the firmware version 4.3.4_0020.0013.
It’s writting the SD card when I record manually but not when there is an event.

@garath It sounds like you’ve identified a potential issue related to the firmware version 4.3.4_0020.0013, where the Camera Hub G3 writes to the SD card during manual recording but not for event-triggered recordings. While the reference information doesn’t specifically address this version or issue, here are a few steps you might consider:

  1. Firmware Rollback: If possible, consider rolling back to a previous firmware version where the event recordings were working correctly. This can help determine if the issue is indeed related to the new firmware.

  2. Event Detection Settings: Double-check the event detection settings to ensure they are properly configured. Sometimes settings can be inadvertently changed during firmware updates.

  3. App Update: Ensure your Aqara Home app is updated to the latest version, as this might resolve compatibility issues with the new firmware.

  4. Contact Support: Since this seems to be a firmware-related issue, reaching out to Aqara’s Customer Service for more specialized assistance could be beneficial.
