Camera Motion Detection Issues and Solutions

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience with my smart camera’s motion detection feature. While it’s been a great addition to my home security setup, I noticed something odd happening with the motion detection. The camera would record activity, like someone walking past my front door, but the event wouldn’t show up in the ‘Recent Events’ list, and I wouldn’t receive any push notifications. This happened a couple of times recently, and it was a bit concerning.

After some research and troubleshooting, I found that the issue might be related to how the motion detection zone was set up. I decided to take a closer look at the camera’s settings. I adjusted the detection zone to ensure it was properly aligned with the area I wanted to monitor. To my relief, this seemed to fix the problem. The camera now consistently records motion and sends notifications.

Another thing I noticed was the importance of keeping the camera’s firmware up to date. I updated it through the SmartThings app, and since then, the motion detection has been much more reliable. It’s a good reminder to periodically check for firmware updates and ensure all devices are running the latest software.
