Cannot add u300 smart lock as a child device of the M3 hub

I am trying to add the u300 as a child device of the M3 hub. I was able to add both devices into the app with no problem. When I tried to add the lock as a child device I couldn’t get it to connect. I re-added the lock again and it asked to select a matter controller, but it says “no matter controllers available” and below it says "the following matter controllers are not on the same local network. I’m not sure how that is, since I only have one SSID and only 2.4 ghz is enabled. Looking at the settings of the M3, the SSID is shown and its the same one I am on with my phone. I have tried restarting both devices and even tried removing them and re-adding them twice. Both devices are on the latest non bet firmware. Any idea of what is happening?

@bhryszkanich It sounds like you’re experiencing a frustrating issue with getting your U300 smart lock to connect as a child device to the M3 hub. Let’s see if we can unravel this together.

Firstly, it’s great that both devices are updated to the latest firmware and are on the same network. However, a common requirement for integrating Matter devices, like the U300, is ensuring that your router supports IPv6. This is crucial because the Matter protocol, which enhances device stability and connectivity, requires it.

Here are a few steps you can try:

  1. Check IPv6 Support: Make sure your WiFi router supports IPv6. If it doesn’t, you might need to enable it or consult your router’s manual for assistance.

  2. Network Consistency: Although your SSID is the same, ensure that both the M3 hub and your phone are connected to the same local area network, as slight discrepancies can sometimes cause issues.

  3. Reset and Reconnect: If the above doesn’t help, you might need to reset the lock or the M3 hub, and then try reconnecting them again.

  4. Matter Controller Issue: Since it mentions “no matter controllers available,” double-check that your setup is correctly configured to recognize a Matter controller.

  5. Restart Devices: You’ve already tried this, but sometimes multiple restarts can help.

If these steps still don’t resolve the issue, it might be a good idea to engage the community or contact support for more detailed troubleshooting. It’s important to remember that some advanced features may not be available if you’re not using the Aqara Hub.

Hi, we’ve noticed that many iPhone users are experiencing similar issues after updating to iOS 18.4. Our team is actively working with Apple team to address and resolve these problems, though the timeline for a fix is currently unavailable. In the meantime, we’ll be releasing a U300 firmware update in early August to improve Matter network pairing success rates.
