Can't add Aqara M1S (Plug)

Hi,
i have Problems with an Aqara M1S (plug) with Chinese language on the back of the plug. I can´t switch to the aqara mode without add the device to Home App. I have an Aqara Smart Hub Central (M2).

Any tips?

I have already used the plug in Aqara mode, but I can’t get it to switch back to Aqara mode.

When i try to switch it into Aqara Mode the App hangs for a while, the plug restarts and then it says no device found.
I’ve reset it several times.

Is a firmware bug possible? or is it a HW bug(brand new bought)?

i can use the plug fine in the “Apple Home” App with my iPhone.

The Aqara Hub M1S is compatible with two different applications: AIOT (Aqara Home app) and MIOT (Mi Home app). To switch between the applications, you need to reset the device to its factory settings. Here are the detailed steps:

  1. Quickly press the device function button 10 times to reset it to its factory settings. By default, it will enter MIOT mode.

  2. Within 10 seconds after the yellow indicator light starts flashing quickly, press the button twice again.

  3. The indicator light will turn white and flash twice, indicating that the switch was successful and it has entered AIOT mode.

now i can´t be added, there is an error message saying something like “the plug can only be used in mainland China”. What does that mean? Is it region locked? That would be a joke.

The Aqara M1S with Chinese language on the back of the plug indicates that it is a product version sold in mainland China. It can only connect to Chinese servers and cannot access servers in other countries.

Hi! You might have to change your region to China Mainland to use your Aqara M1S in Aqara Home app - Settings - Region.
