CCU2 Firmware Update and Smart Lighting Integration

Hi everyone! I wanted to share my recent experience with updating the CCU2 firmware to version 2.45.7. The update process was smooth, and I noticed some improvements in stability, especially with my firewall settings. It’s always great to keep things up to date to avoid any potential issues down the line.

On another note, I’ve been experimenting with integrating my smart lights using Home Assistant. I was initially a bit overwhelmed by the different installation methods, but I decided to go with the supervised setup since it allows me to use my Raspberry Pi for other tasks like running a VPN and scheduling cron jobs.

One challenge I encountered was synchronizing multiple lights at once. I found that using MQTT with a virtual machine setup worked well, but I had to tweak the network settings in VirtualBox to ensure consistent connectivity. I ended up switching from a bridged adapter to NAT, which resolved most of my issues.

I’d love to hear how others are managing their smart lighting setups and if anyone has tips for optimizing performance in a multi-device environment. Happy holidays to everyone, and here’s to more successful smart home projects in the new year! :tada:
