I have a combination ceiling light and fan that I want to be able to control remotely. Can the light switch H2, or even better dimmer switch H2 control more than just lights?
@ian112 The Aqara Light Switch H2 US is designed primarily for controlling lights that meet specific power requirements. It’s not recommended for controlling appliances other than lights, such as a ceiling fan, due to compatibility concerns. The reference information specifies that the Light Switch H2 US is only compatible with lighting fixtures, and using it with other loads could lead to issues.
Regarding the Aqara Dimmer Switch H2, it also focuses on controlling various types of lights, such as incandescent, dimmable LED, and halogen lamps, with precision dimming capabilities. Unfortunately, it doesn’t support wired connections to smart lights or appliances like fans and could potentially damage the device or connected equipment if used improperly.
For your ceiling fan and light combination, it might be best to consider a solution specifically designed for fan control to ensure safety and functionality. If you have further questions or need assistance with a different setup, feel free to share more details, and the community or I can help explore other options.
Dual relay module T2? Except the existing wall box isn’t deep enough, so it would have to go somewhere even less accessible.
@ian112 The Aqara Dual Relay Module T2 offers flexible installation options, making it a versatile choice for controlling devices like ceiling lights and fans. However, I understand your concern about the existing wall box not being deep enough. In such cases, you might consider placing the Dual Relay Module T2 inside the ceiling or within an electrical box, as it supports such installations.
Additionally, if space is a constraint, using an ultra-thin wall switch or a Wireless Remote Switch H1 might be a viable alternative to control the relay. This could help you manage your setup without worrying about accessibility issues.
