Hey everyone, I just wanted to share my exciting project—I’m transforming my man cave with some awesome smart lighting! 
I’ve set a goal to have everything ready for my 40th birthday, and I can’t wait to host a few friends over to check it out. 
I’ve been experimenting with different lighting setups, and honestly, it’s been a lot of fun. I’ve learned so much about how to layer lights for the perfect ambiance. For example, I’ve added some RGB strips for mood lighting and a couple of dimmable LED bulbs for task lighting. The key has been figuring out the right balance between brightness and color—something I’m still tweaking, but it’s coming together nicely! 
One thing I’ve noticed is that the lighting automation I set up isn’t working quite as smoothly as I’d hoped. I tried creating a simple rule where the lights dim after 15 seconds if the window is closed, but it only triggers if the time is less than 3 seconds. 
I’m not sure what’s causing this delay. Has anyone else experienced something similar? Any tips would be super appreciated!
Another cool feature I’ve been exploring is integrating my Flic buttons with the SmartThings API. It works perfectly when I test it with curl in the command line, but for some reason, the Flic app isn’t sending the request properly. I’m wondering if there’s something about the user agent or IP that the API is blocking. If anyone has any insights or solutions, that would be amazing!
Overall, I’m really enjoying the process of customizing my space. There’s something so satisfying about seeing all these smart devices come together to create a seamless experience. Plus, knowing that I can control everything from my phone or even through voice commands with Alexa is a huge bonus!
