This is a great video! Simon42 does an excellent job explaining the integration of Thread devices with Home Assistant, especially with the Aqara Light Switch H2. The dual support for Thread and Zigbee protocols makes it a very versatile device. I’m particularly interested in how this impacts overall network stability and responsiveness in a smart home setup. Thanks for sharing!
I noticed this problem with the H2 EU switch, in zigbee mode, the top key has a very long delay of about 1 second (this is not acceptable in 2025), and I also cannot configure the double and long press of the top key, they simply do not exist in the settings of the top key in the mode of the untethered relay! If you connect over Matter over Thread, the response to a keystroke is very fast (less than 20 milliseconds) very convenient and comfortable, there is no difference with a regular “stupid” switch, but it is not possible to untie the built-in relay, which makes the switch useless in working with smart lights, how could such blunders be made in the design of such a wonderful switch? Very bad! I’m not satisfied!
