Hello everyone, I’m currently in the process of beautifying my patio doors and I’m faced with a bit of a dilemma. I have French doors that open outwards, with window panels on both sides and above the doors. The dimensions are quite sizable—100” wide by 92” high—which makes finding the right covering solution a bit challenging.
After doing some research, I’ve narrowed it down to two options: curtains operated from one side or two 50” cellular shades. The curtain option seems more affordable, but I’m concerned about how they’ll look and function given the layout of my doors. On the other hand, the cellular shades are more expensive but promise better insulation and a sleeker appearance.
I’d love to hear from anyone who has experience with either option. Have you had success with one over the other? Are there any factors I should consider that I might have missed? I’m also in the process of switching my other windows to smart blinds, so any advice on that front would be appreciated as well!
It’s a bit overwhelming, but I’m excited to make a decision and see the transformation. Looking forward to your thoughts and experiences! ![]()
